Of course, my post from yesterday implies that John THOUGHT OUT what he was doing. I over-reached shamelessly because I tend to forget that these people don't think any farther ahead than the next five seconds, if that. A lot of the problems the Pattersons currently face would have never have troubled them if they'd spent a few minutes going over their intended course of action in their heads. Liz, for example, would be a lot happier if she HAD actually listened to herself back when Paul snarked about that. They might still have broken up but her feelings would'nt have been hurt nearly as bad as they were. April would have ended her irrational feud with Becky long ago if she'd owned up to simply being jealous of someone prettier. Given that she wouldn't have maneuvered Beckers out of 4-Evah because of her wounded pride, they'd ALL be world famous all over Canada by now. John might have actually prepared April for the Housening last year, when he should have, instead of simply assuming that she'd be on board. If Mike had thought things through a little while back, he wouldn't have resigned from Potrrait. He'd have acted like a man and fired the worst brown-nosers so as to make the magazine run better. As far as bullshit detection goes, Elly might have seen right through Kortney's weak bullshit and canned her lying ass. Why don't they think ahead? The only reason I can see is that they don't want to confirm their unreasonably pessismistic view of the world. Standing next to these incredibly lucky and unfeasibly negative people, Ryoga Hibiki looks like SpongeBob.
