Elly versus the Monster Moms

I've already posted about my belief that Elly, like most of her family, seems to love living in a self-induced fog. They seem intimidated almost by the prospect of having to make any decision more consequential thant 'Pizza or Chinese'. Since they don't have a plan for what they do, the result is always a chaos of honking noses and flapping limbs, wherein someone gets praised for bearing up as well as can be expected in the mess their gutless inaction created. This is what sets her apart from Monster Mom Mira. They have the same tastes in damn near everything but Mira knows exactly what she wants and sets about getting it. If you're a quivering invertebrate paralyzed by dread because you're asked to make a simple decision and don't want be seen as a bad person, someone who was has an actual opinion and expresses it must be 'pushy' and 'unreasonable'. To admit otherwise would be to force Elly to admit her own hapless incapacity in every respect of her life.
