Spin: the solution to life's woes..
Jun. 19th, 2008 07:04 amWe know that the Pattersons love to not give things their right names. For instance, Mike isn't an arrogant, lazy boob using a flimsy pretext to avoid having to deal with his children, he's a misunderstood genius who needs his isolation. Also, Anthony isn't a whining, humorless, spineless adulterer who's spent his life trading on looking pathetic, he's all the positive things the Pattersons tell us he is. This is, as I've said before, the Pattersons fear and hate having to take responsibility for their own stupid actions. From Elly on down, the need to tell it like it isn't burns within them. This leads to each Patterson having a person in their life who cries 'Shenanigans' and lets slip the dogs of honesty. Elly has Connie, Liz has Deanna (coming in to replace the off-limits Candace) and April has Eva to point out when the Foob in question is full of it. Where it all falls down is that having to listen to unsolicited reality is dependent on the age of the dissembler. April is the youngest so she has to listen; Liz and Elly are allowed to escape from facing the facts.
