I know that I probably mentioned this before but one of the odder new trends in my home and native land is that they're finally starting to get around to giving us a holiday in the month of February. As it was about twenty or thirty years ago when the August bank holiday grew into a sort of civic holiday, the Canadian content take on President's Day called "Family Day" is starting to grow in importance in this country. The reason that I mention this is that it seems to me that in the Foobiverse, it would probably be a colder, snowier Thanksgiving.
This is not just because Lynn lives in fear of her fanbase turning on her and becoming a pitchfork-wielding lynch mob because it's revealed that a foreign country isn't obliged to celebrate American holidays. It also isn't because we're dealing with the fact that it'd be another opportunity to remind us that Elly never gets holidays because her evil relatives don't even see what she does as being work at all. What would inhibit Lynn from making note of the day is that she might actually have to take stock of things and realize that she really wasn't much of a parent or wife and that scares the shit out of her.
