Poo and pee are (not) funny.

As you know, Lynn loves vulgar, asinine, juvenile humor with a rather revolting passion; she'd rather make broad jokes about how stupid John is or how short-tempered Elly is than the more subtle things we think of when we talk about what we used to love about the strip. One of the more annoying and revolting sources of supposed mirth is the inability of children and animals to control where they void themselves. I know I'm not alone in saying that watching Elly blow her stack because Farley pooped on the rug or Lizzie peed herself is not what I want to see with my morning paper nor is it something I would like to remind others of. It seems sort of horrible to exploit Elly's ineptitude as a pet-owner and parent, Farley's bafflement at being punished for something he was never allowed to control and Lizzie's humiliation as a source of cheap laughs.
